A brave, especially in Germany, complaint about the consequences of immigration.

Will a British politician be so forthright?

Milliband - family here for two minutes

Camoron - Scotch

Clegg - married out

No chance of agreement from that lot.

This is what I thought. That link is worth a read.

Imo the key part is in the very first paragraph.

Attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have "utterly failed", Chancellor Angela Merkel says.

The State (here and there) has no business trying to reshape societies and cultures in the Fabian way they did. Grievance politics and pandering to lobby groups has ruined communities through Government approved discrimination as much as it has the economy through vested interests having the ear of the Chancellor.

A long time ago Ronald Reagan said "We have so many people who can't see a fat man standing beside a thin one without coming to the conclusion that the fat man got that way by taking advantage of the thin one. So they are going to solve all the problems of human misery through government and government planning. Well, now, if government planning and welfare had the answer and they've had almost 30 years of it, shouldn't we expect government to almost read the score to us once in a while? Shouldn't they be telling us about the decline each year in the number of people needing help? The reduction in the need for public housing?"

In this day and age it applies as much to those who see a white man standing beside a white woman/black person/gay/muslim/etc as it does a rich man and a poor man or a fat man and a thin one. All the State had to do was lead by example in treating all comers equally regardless of colour or creed but they could not and have not.

Multi culturalism has never worked anywhere in the world without intervention from the ruling powers.

The USA is not multicultural, it has segregated areas, some of them so bad they are "no go" for white people. There was only one city in America that was able to maintain an ethnically balanced neighbourhood and that was done through constant manipulation of property tax breaks. With no interventions you get "white flight".

Even the most pro immigration liberals rarely choose to put down roots in ethnic areas. Where do Clegg, Cable and all the other mass immigration cheerleaders live?

Multi culturalism has never worked anywhere in the world without intervention from the ruling powers.

I would say that multiculturalism generally doesn't work in the sense that two groups of people with very different cultural backgrounds don't identify with each other as well as they do with their own, leading to social division.

On the other hand if two or more cultures are slowly exposed to each other and given enough time to blend they eventually become a new culture composed of the sum of their parts.

Example. The US is made up of many types of immigrant, yet now most of those identify themselves as simply "American". Problems arise where two different cultures mix too quickly, such as Latin migration into the US. Although the two cultures are not as dissimilar as some, the sheer quantity of Latinos crossing the boarder in a short period of time has led to cultural divides, tension and areas of poor integration.

The UK has seen similar problems with high volumes of middle eastern and east european immigration over relatively short time periods.

Good for Merkel.

Its a hard fact to face up to in the face of all the liberal propaganda, and all western governments would be wise not to ignore it. Lions don't lie down with tigers, its not racist its just a natural fact.

Heaven knows what they expect to do about it but it should be interesting to watch the whole mess unravel.

"A museum to Nazi 'Art' opened in Berlin this week." Oh come on Tulip thats hardly a fair conection.

If she is then she should try to appeal to what she thinks the majority would vote for and not what the minority want.

+ Nazi Art museum opens in Berlin.

And so it begins. Why is it always the Germans that scapegoat foreigners first? I don't find anything positive about this statement at all. This just shows me what I have always said about Germany - that it is a coiled spring kept calm by opulence, remove that opulence/wealth and you have trouble with a capital T.

+ We find out in Wednesday that the RAF no longer exists. We're going right back to the start, all over again. No lessons learned.

Nothing to do with immigration in general.

It's mainly to do with certain immigrants who come to Europe and hate its way of life but love the standard of living.

Agreed

Sadly it did not. take long for Godwins law to kick on this thread with the lazy accusation that the Germans are all crypto Nazis

In fact Merkel is pointing out the uncomfortable truth that multiculturalist ideology with its apartheid notion of separate development for different ethnic, religious and cultural groups is the true racist ideology since it not only implicitly stuffs people into group on account of their skin colour, parentage ancesteral belief system but actively tries to keep them there. In fact leaders of certain groups do not want people breaking out of their cultural ghettos by intermarrying, changing faith etc because they see it as a challenge to their grip over them. A true Nazi would actually applaud the idea that people should be confined physically and culturally by groups as it would make their ideology so much easier to implement. All they would then need to do would be to manufacture the armbands and build walls around pre existing ghettos (something that would actually be pathetically easy to do in some British towns). Merkel is simply statiing that for a society to work and cohere its members must at least subscribe to at least a minimum group of shared values. Otherwise it will simply disintegrate under stress. Germans are all too aware what happens when that occurs

Can you explain the cultural incompatability of Ed Milibands family with British traditional values?

Can you explain why being "Scotch" (ffs) is a problem in Britain.

The irony of you typing "moron" as part of Camerons name is tremendous. Your default stance appears to be to blame everyone else for your own failings.

If people can speak english then they can integrate.

If they can not speak english then areas need more money spending on translation services.

Cut translation services in the UK for public health care and benefits.

Why should we translate forms for people to claim massive benefits if they can't be arsed speaking english.

birds of a feather, flock together.

ancient wisdom.

Sure, but why race or "culture" would be the most relevant aspect to "flock together"?

I like people who are honest, well intended, hard-working. And I really dislike people who are dishonest and mean-spirited. Race or "culture" is completely irrelevant to me - in choosing whom I prefer to "flock" with.

Don't you?!

Spot on SL.

Analysis

Stephen Evans BBC News, Berlin

Angela Merkel took pains to say immigrants are welcome.

The words "utterly failed" are very strong, but there are also nuanced messages about the usefulness of immigrants in a country that needs skilled labour.

She is pitching it very carefully, with important elections coming up in the spring.

The tone is very important.

The chancellor is basically saying that Germany needs immigrants but immigrants need to do something to get into the society.

The Germans do everything right!

I'm starting to find fewer excuses not to learn the language and go be an engineer over there...

:o

And be a... ... ... (drums roll) an immigrant !

FGS...

Edit: Little detail, over there "engineer" means engineere really, a university degree. (Just in case you are using the less "demanding" English meaning.) It's a cultural thing, you see? You may have to "integrate" this one too.

I think the Hun is worried about being overun with millions of turk muslims when turkey comes into the EU. I am worried that if our benefit system is tightened we will lose out on the new influx of millions of turks coming into the UK. We need them to keep our NHS going
