I thought this presentation was very interesting (another cracker from G. Edward Griffin):

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4312930190281243507#

G. Edward Griffin marshals the evidence that cancer is a deficiency disease - like scurvy or pellagra - aggravated by the lack of an essential food compound in modern man's diet. That substance is vitamin B17. In its purified form developed for cancer therapy, it is known as Laetrile. This story is not approved by orthodox medicine. The FDA, the AMA, and The American Cancer Society have labeled it fraud and quackery. Yet the evidence is clear that here, at last, is the final answer to the cancer riddle. Why has orthodox medicine waged war against this non-drug approach? The author contends that the answer is to be found, not in science, but in politics - and is based upon the hidden economic and power agenda of those who dominate the medical establishment. With billions of dollars spent each year on research, with other billions taken in on the sale of cancer-related drugs, and with fund-raising at an all-time high, there are now more people making a living from cancer than dying from it. If the solution should be found in a simple vitamin, this gigantic industry could be wiped out over night. The result is that the politics of cancer therapy is more complicated than the science.

and here's the pdf of the book.

without cancer, we wont have growth

Yeah, I read some peice some time ago, that if they found a cure for cancer it would be an economic disaster, because its a multi trillion industry.

Lets hope they find that cure - me and mrs already take "B" vitamins everyday, and vitamin D in the winter (all to do with the sunlight!)

People know that corporations lie to them. They saw it with the tobacco companies. The idea of drug companies keeping their profits going by inventing disease or suppressing cures would surprise very few, I suspect. The problem is that most people don't care, or not enough to do anything about it, unless it affects them directly. We have been atomised - separated from and fearful of each other, separated from nature - according to the rules of economics, in the name of profit.

100 years ago nobody had cancer beacuse they died young, now it's over 45% of deaths. I don't see why more vitamins would protect me.

Edit: it's the old laetrile scam, gives you cyanide poisoning and has no effect on the cancer.

let's stay on topic, please.

This is the off-topic forum I'll have you know!

But on a more serious note, my comment wasn't meant in jest. I've heard these tales peddled out before, and it's turned out to be a scientologist doing the peddling.

However lucrative the pharma industry is, I do not believe a cancer cure has been suppressed. Sorry but it's just too far fetched. We have to remember the industry is made up of people like ourselves, susceptible to illness and death. Let's imagine some shadowy pharma boss shelving a cure for cancer to protect profits. Then unfortunately a family member of his gets cancer.

So what happens next?

Griffin clearly states that there's no conspiracy here. It's just vested interests at work.

It's the same with house prices, isn't it? People of this country are in love with high house prices. Is that because they want their kids to be priced out...? It's suicidal in the long term and doesn't make sense atll...

Read the book where he explains about vested interests and why profits matter more than logic&health in the pharma industry.

Cancer is supposed to happen. Not very nice and I hope it doesn't happen to me - however I can accept that it is just one of those things.

Excellent video Pole. thanks for posting it.

There is a parallel with the suppression in the West of so-called phage treatments of biotic diseases, treatments originating in Georgia and used by - for example - the Red Army in WWII because they could not access antibiotics.

Basically, phages are viruses which attack bacteria.

Which fails to explain why animals, of every sort, get cancer. The ancient Greeks who named the disease were not 'modern' men. Cancer can be induced in numerous ways. I contend that if you load a man up with these vitamins and then expose him to a strong radiation source, he will still get cancer.

This is just another diet fad. No matter what the problem, some people seem to think that changing the diet will solve it.

If you were the one who discovered the cure for cancer you would be richer than Bill Gates and more loved than Gandhi. The losers would be the other pharmaceutical companies, not you. There is every incentive to discover a cure.

Also let's not forget that most scientists are quite idealistic types who could have made much more money doing other things but pursued science because they thought it was more fun and/or meaningful.

I used to work in cancer research, as a scientist in a laboratory. I left because it was too much of a pain in the @ss and not enough reward. I am not selfless enough to give up a normal adult life to work on cures for diseases. Believe me, there is no suppression going on, it's just a very hard problem.

Cancer Charity is a complete Con and has been for decades!

They just use it as cynical money-making vehicle to get to you when you have recently lost someone close who has been eaten by a horrific affliction.

It's symbology and proxy praise to Elites secret societies -

Anyone with 2 bit brain can work out it's a covered up con. Who knows what research they are really working on with monies given to cancer charities. There is no incentive to release a cure as thousands of research jobs evaporate.

Just like all the stories of cover-ups of free-energy discoveries - it would put the Billionaire elites out of their "con the Worlds population" businesses!

The villification and deliberate destruction of Nikola Tesla by his peers should kick you off!

Deliberate ommissions and misdirection by scientific peers have conned us about the way electricity really works (and free-energy)

Tesla's name/discoveries are being written out of the text books/interweb - that should surprise you even more!

"He created more advanced electricity than we use today! Edison created the old school electricity but he couldn't figure out how to improve his creation, therefore it should be Tesla who gets the credit.

Any idea what percentage of, say, badgers get cancer?

And the film refers to cancers of cows that appear in the winter and then disappear when the snows melt and the nutrient/mineral rich grass appears again.

Mmm, I wonder, what's this guy selling?

Oh look he's selling a book.

Oh look he's got a web site where he's selling vitamins.

Oh look his web site says everyone else is a liar and your only chance is to buy his book and vitamins

Oh look he's got all of 100 cases where 'its worked'. That's many fewer than the numbers of sponateous remissions, fewer than the number 'cured' by mediation, visualisation and other purely mind-based approaches.

And obviously the place to base a website deciated to eradicating cancer (with examples and text specifically focussed on the USA) is in Leigh-on-Sea.

I have cancer. The idea that the professionals who treat people like me are deliberately withholding solutions is extremely naive. His site has been going for 10 years. Only somebody who'd never experienced these professionals would be sufficiently gullible to think that over that time they'd never hear of / ignore something that worked.

I'm sure he's making a nice living out of it. This kind of self-serving money-grab based on conspiracy theory is just a business. Less ethical than most but still a business.

If a player wants to adjust a piece on its square without being required to move it, he can announce "adjust" or "jā€™adoube" before touching the piece.

If someones time on earth is up - just accept it!

Most of us live way beyond alloted 3 score + 10yrs anyway.

We are in a mess coz Western medicines prolong life.

Look at places like Bangladesh which now have access to Western medicines - yet continue their culture of multiple kid families leading to huge overpopulation (most of whom would previously pop their clogs)

Saved from illness - many then die of starvation.

"5,000,000 families supported with rice rations We will also provide cash relief to every starving family," he asserts. But in reality, the promised relief is not reaching the poor."

What is the solution?

Heraldry

The crab, because of its capacity to move sideways, was seen as a symbol of inconstancy.

"The state or quality of being eccentrically variable or fickle"

More often, however, a peculiar animal was chosen for a 'play on words'.

The Upper Crust are swinging back to a nasty culture of fascistic serfitude of the masses - in a 'pincer' movement!

Plus, on average, 1 in 3 of the people who were engaged in 'hiding the truth' on a cancer cure would get cancer themselves.

The original subject (Laterile, B17, Apricot pits) has been around since the 1960s, there have even been trials, and it does the square root of f** all, unfortunately. Apart from make an awful lot of money for mexico-based quacks out of desperate people whilst giving them false hope, and causing them to misuse what time they have left.

Cancer rates are on their way up because the population is ageing. Instead of dying of infectious diseases and accidents at a younger age people are dying of cancer at an old one. Cancer is a disease of the old:

Which is selling the vitamins, in the same town, at the same postcode. Quite a coincidence if its not the same chap.

Sorry if I'm appearing strident about this.

There's a reason. I'm fortunate, I'm able to evaluate this guy's money-making scheme without the fears that would exist if my life were at risk. (A few years ago my wife would have paid any money to anyone promising a 'cure' - irrespective of whether there was any basis in it or not - so I understand the pressures.)

As a contrast to this chap and his vitamins, which he sells by means of the assertion that the experts are deliberately lying to you, I offer my consultant surgeon. He refuses to allow any form of private health scheme/money to influence who he treats in what order. He advocates a range of free 'alternative' therapies, (including diet & vitamins) alongside his treatement when he believes they benefit his patients. He'd jump at the chance to offer his patients a genuine cure for cancer. He can afford to be honest about it. His surgical skills are readily transferable to another specialism. Of the two I'm clear which one I trust.

With regard to the 'success stories' quoted on such web sites I offer two cancer anecdotes.

1) My step-father was told he had 3 years to live, possibly 5. (And that 1 on 100 patients might last 25 years. ) He spent a lot of money going to places that taught him a regime of diet and exercise and various visualisation exercises. He lived another 25 years.

If you'd not been told the bit in brackets you'd happily believe it was a success story for those places. Knowing the bit in brackets, and knowing that of the 100 or so patients who had his treatment in the same hospital around the same year, he was the only one who lasted that long - do you come to the same conclusion with the same certainty?

2) My neighbours daughter - after radiotherapy treatment she was told the cancer had not shrunk sufficiently and there was "no chance" other than a risky op with a very high risk of paralysis and other unpleasantness. She chose to do without and resigned herself to dying. A few months later her mum persuaded her to go for a second opinion - where new scans found no measurable sign of the cancer.

Should we conclude that a cure for cancer is doing nothing and resigning yourself to dying? If not why not? Perhaps I should create a web site using this anecdote to support a claim that ,as a result of my beating cancer, I've developed the power to cure the cancer of those who live in my vicinity? Do wonders for local house prices :)

Success stories, anecdote, is powerful means of persuasion. The media know this. They prefer to run an interview about a individual's experience or reaction rather than present the facts behind a story. People relate to the personal experience but are lousy at interpreting data. When the only thing supporting a case is lots of anecdote it is prudent to examine suggestions you buy product with a very careful eye.

It's bad that the same thing he pretends is happening, a massive cover up to provide money for companies is exactly what he is trying to do.

Lying to the public.

When my Uncle had cancer (and everyone on this board will eventually have someone close to them sufffer it), he started on the quack treatments of aromatherapy, homeopathy, spritual healing, life giving stone powers. I'd probably do the same because when you're facing death and off treatment just pain relief for your final months. Spending a few hundred on this stuff with all the made up nonsense on the internet playing on your mind makes sense.

Previously he was a rational scientific person who never believed any of it but facing death we'd all start to let the people who prey on it into our lives.

Edit: stuff like this which is Laetrile/Amygdalin/Vitamin B17 I'd say something as kindly as I could because it can damage your health but otherwise if it makes them feel better say nothing.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the outcome of its investigative efforts by the Office of Criminal Investigations, conducted jointly with the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the Eastern District of New York and the New York Division of the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), to bring to justice a businessman who had victimized cancer patients by heavily advertising and selling Laetrile, a highly toxic product that has not shown any effect on treating cancer

Can't wait for my wife to get home from work.

All that time she claims to be spending working in the lab on studying DNA repair mechanisms and now some bloke has found out it is all to do with vitamins!

And the way it can cure all "cancer" despite "cancer" being a catch all term for hundreds of differently presenting and differently treatable cell replications is the real kicker.....hang on maybe she is in on the cover up too.....
