Do you think that house at £1/2m is something to get excited about then?

I've just moved (renting both) from Scotland to the North West and here is the largest increase according to the Halifax! Three houses have sold this week close to where I am, I hope they got a good discount.

Good heavens! Nice and er...close to the motorway. I've read in a lot of places that Manchester Road has itself become extremely busy because of the M60. I've noticed a lot of houses I've liked are a bit too close to motorways...definitely something to look out for.

Another cut, quite a history:

16 Sep 2009 First day listed (price £559,950)

04 Oct 2009 Price changed from £559,950 to £425,000

30 Jan 2010 Price changed from £425,000 to £399,950

04 Apr 2010 Price changed from £399,950 to £369,950

27 May 2010 Price changed from £369,950 to £365,000

11 Jun 2010 Status changed from listed to delisted

29 Jul 2010 Status changed from delisted to listed

Was it the sought-after 'stairs to the bath' feature that inspired their initial optimism?

Do you think it's up for sale due to the demise of the present owner whilst dismounting following ablutionary duties? Is there a word for death from bathing? It's difficult to imagine a more inappropriate mix than a raised bath, a polished tile step descent, wet feet and petrochemical based personal cleansing products. :P

Good God. It should be a warning to all of us. Which brings to mind this newly-listed Barrymoretastic pad:

What a strange place! Especially if you explore the area on Google Earth.

And...a rather dramatic cut, after what appears to be a short time on the market:

We used to live in Middleton until my parents moved to South Manchester when I was 10, so prices up there are of some interest to me.

For this house they originally were asking £560,000 in July 2010.

It's with a new estate agent now asking £495,000. On Rightmove they have no exterior photos of the house itself, which is a bit strange. Address is the same as 266 Manchester New Road

In the description it begins with a Vendor's View.

VENDOR'S VIEW - When we bought this house in 2007 it was in need of a programme of work to bring the property up to date, retaining and re-introducing features...

Last sold for £418,000 on 26-Sep-2007.
