Just Pay £8,000 Per Month To Own This House

Recommended Posts

I used to live around the corner from here. They fail to mention the looming high rise tower blocks (which seem to be inhabited entirely by Somali refugee families) that overlook the back garden of this place. It's most definitely more Kilburn High Road than St Johns Wood.

Yeah, sure, I'm making £400k a year and I'm going to pay 50% of my take-home pay to live in Kilburn. Wonder why the banks would be hesitant to give me a mortgage for that?

Could be that behind this is a Sharia Law arrangement; its against Islamic law for Muslims to borrow money so it is possible to arrange a lease where you end up owning the property. Indeed most of the very large banks have Islamic "boards" of Muslim scholars to approve Islamic compliant financing arrangements.

Possible, but I extremely doubt it.
