p.s. The trip is going well. Cairo traffic is erm.....exciting. We have an apartment now in Mohandiseen, and have started arabic lessons. Hello to everyone who know doubt remembers me.

If you want a trip to Egypt and you are not a madman, contact me through tthe e-mail in the members area.

Nice to see you are still all fighting the good fight, and the wife loves all the snide comments about Ms Allsop.

p.p.s. I am now bald, , as a right of passage of not having any responsibilities, the wife shaved my hair off last night so I could avoid a trip to a cairo barber and look like all the other men in this country, who all seem to support their own national version of the 'Lionel Blair'. I now look like a British soldier, which is perhaps not the best look to have walking the streets of the middle east.......

Practically all respondants are bear. Could we all be convincing each other that the falls are just about to happen, but our information to back this view is actually just ourselves regurjitating stories?

This is BBBs and TTRTRs argument, but the fact that so many people are being drawn into this forum and growing everyday, suggests that we are not a minority hoping against hope, that we are well educated, earn decent wages and yet find ourselves in a situation we find bemusing. now either TTRTR is right and we are entering a new era where home ownership is no longer the norm, but something we eventually inherit from our parents (if they haven't spent it all on foriegn holidays in retirement!) or that the situation is out of whack.

the educational level and salary level of most on this board seems to suggest above average and in the top (say 30% plucked out the air), and if we are struggling then what hope the rest of society?

If you can search through a lot of dross (which has been spread by a certain few bulls AND bears) there are some really good facts on this board, which should convince a moderately educated person that this is not right.

now I'm waffling I'll stop!

Take Heart and keep the faith!

I don't know that inheritance will get us out of the mire if this is a new paradigm (which I doubt).

Due to the governments beloved IHT and the ever closing loopholes it'll all have to go back to them anyway.

This is one reason I can't understand why people are so willing to pay ever increasing prices for the same house? In my way of thinking the government has managed to extract as much of our current and future earnings through direct tax, indirect tax, high houseprice stamp and stoking the consumer boom all at once, while most people walk around in credit fuelled ignorance.

Sorry starting to rant again.

ps are there instructions somewhere to tell me how to quote properly? Not only Joe public who's being thick this morning.
