ADP Estimates U.S. Companies Cut 39,000 Jobs in September

Companies in the U.S. unexpectedly cut workers in September, data from a private report based on payrolls showed.

Employment decreased by 39,000, according to figures today from ADP Employer Services.

The median estimate of 37 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News called for a gain of 20,000. Forecasts ranged from a decline of 44,000 to a 75,000 increase.

I think the new cult of 'unexpectedly' is some bizzare show of solidarity amongst the media for their masters- the implication being that any deviation on the road to recovery must be an anomaly- some transient grit in the smooth working machine that our elite in reality represent.

And since they are incapable of error, any failure must- by definition- be unexpected.

The only other possibility being that they have f*cked things up. Which is- of course- impossible.
