Pupils At Dover School Walk Out Over Lunch Change

Recommended Posts

Police were called to a school in Kent after hundreds of children walked out of lessons in protest over changes to the timetable.

Between 200 and 300 children are understood to have taken part in the protest at Dover Christ Church Academy.

Pupils said the protest was mainly about changes to the lunch hour, which meant they were split into two groups.

Head teacher Richard Williams said the pupils at the centre of the protest had later apologised to him.

Yeah, right.

Watch the head wingnuts eyes bulge when the reporter challenges him about keeping order. Comedy gold, right there.

Lovely to see, in any event.

Blimey - first youth action I've seen in years. Doesn't matter what it was for. Well done to those who managed to organise.

Very encouraging. They may even have spoken to each other, or is it all done by Text message?

1) I noticed from the sign that the school is "academy" status, translated this means the school it replaced FAILED !

2) head wingnuts 120K package is at stake is the lid blows off the situation, acadamy=private schools & contracts

3) The fat chugger mom giving it the "how long am I spossed to wait here with them" (her children) indicated the sort of catchment area & parental support head wingnut is working with ie the reason the first school failed.

4) head wingnut guarantees nowt ! http://dccacademy.org.uk/aboutus/principals_welcome.php

5) extra-curricula activities, always a good indicator for the weary supply teacher, lets compare & contrast

wingnuts gaff: http://dccacademy.org.uk/extra_curricula_activities/schedules.php

a "real school" (nothing special really); http://www.eckington.net/extracurricular.cfm

6) whats the A-C looking like ?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/education/06/school_tables/secondary_schools/html/886.stm

it's not listed, penny drops, there are 2 selective grammar schools that are creaming the catchment area (Dover Grammar School for Boys & girls).........guess what the makeup of the pupil body of wingnut gaff is

Wingnut has an impossible job, I won't go into these joints unless its 200quid+ for the 5 hours - let some other sucker take it up the bottom

Gotta give it to the pupils they organized and protested. The Headmaster had zero control and called the police, EPIC FAIL.

A few token arrests, maybe they should have arrested the headmaster for wasting police time.

It just goes to show all hope is not lost for the UK.

Your daughter fomenting dissent again?

Good to see. Piity about the ending - ring leaders forced to abase themselves in fron tof the tyrant and all...

Kind of disturbing that the head felt the need to call the police in, and that they felt the need to respond.
