Go figure, he should know!

Any Nazi 'unbelievers' here? Please show yourselves!

Well he didn't say that actually

That is what the anti religion news media would like you to believe he said.

Seems they have succeeded.

In his address, the Pope spoke of "a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society".

The old fool did say it. He is a complete nutter overseeing a billion nutters

Posted this several times before, but I guess the anti-"nutters" refuse even to read it - his Regensburg lecture on faith and reason - a gem of wisdom:

http://www.vatican.v...ensburg_en.html

Actually, this quote made me think of the perma-bears on this forum:

Here I am reminded of something Socrates said to Phaedo. In their earlier conversations, many false philosophical opinions had been raised, and so Socrates says: "It would be easily understandable if someone became so annoyed at all these false notions that for the rest of his life he despised and mocked all talk about being - but in this way he would be deprived of the truth of existence and would suffer a great loss".

And he was clearly talking about the Third Reich.

Complete storm in a teacup.

The old coffin dodger has come up with some right howlers, but this is not one of them.

It is the BBC FFS - The Pope 'appeared' to blah, blah, blah

The BBC are left wing, anti Jewish, anti christian propagandists who would make Goebbels blush.

Quote

The Pope made his remarks in his opening address to the Queen at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

He said: "Even in our own lifetimes we can recall how Britain and her leaders stood against a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society and denied our common humanity to many, especially the Jews, who were thought unfit to live.

"As we reflect on the sobering lessons of atheist extremism of the 20th century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus a reductive vision of a person and his destiny."

The Nazis were National Socialists

Stalin was a Socialist

Mao was a Socialist

Pol Pot was a Socialist

They were all atheists and they all murdered millions of their own citizens.

Not a great advert for atheism are they?, because if you turn humans into souless objects then you can do anything you like to them.

Argument fail .

Once you start referring to outsiders as kafir, goyim, etc and they cease to be 'human' in your eyes, the same logic applies.

I don't recall that the Catholic Church was terribly proactive during WWII in discouraging mass murder. In fact they have admitted as much, and apologized. Suggests an element of disinterest at best, if not active involvement.

Vatican Gives Formal Apology for Inaction During Holocaust

Perhaps they would have been more outspoken had it been "Good Christians" being murdered.

I would imagine that most atheists (myself included) are left-of-centre.

The problem as I see it with socialism is that it denies people any humanity

Humans are not robots or ants

They love each other, their family and friends and will work to make these people happy

But if you want them to work for the state you end up having to hold a gun to their heads

And if the person holding the gun does not believe in God or an afterlife then what's to stop them pulling the trigger?

Nothing

As far as I know everyone looked the other way.

We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out.

The fact is any extreme ideology, be it religious or political, is capable of justifying and carrying out mass killing by reducing people to the level of sub-humans. Most of them have at some point, including the Roman Catholic Church. It is disingenuous and hypocritical of the pope to single out atheism as the sole (lack of) belief system that automatically leads to this behaviour.

The point is that the 20th Century is the history of one particular atheist ideology committing mass murder over and over again.

LINK

They didn't die from not using condoms they died from Aids.

If people in Africa abstained from sex before marriage and were then faithful to their partners they would never get aids.

If they want condoms they can buy condoms - I am not aware that any African country has banned the sale of condoms?

BTW I am not Catholic nor am I religious - but if I lived in Africa I certainly wouldn't be having unprotected sex - so why do they?
