Have been looking (only generally, need to check fundamentals) at the Barrat Development share price. Absolutely rock bottom compared to peak. Have been thinking about putting a small amount into them once the cuts come hard and house prices fall as I'm scared they may not have bottomed out completely. What do you reckon?

Net assets + (your expected further yearly profit x your expected fair value on dividents) = your guesstimate of further share price.

If current SP is lower than that guesstimate, buy, if not dont

Correlated to housing market. So,

  • If you don't own a house, you could buy a large shareholding as a hedge on house prices.

  • If you have a mortgaged house (leveraged stake in the market), avoid like the plague. Eggs, Baskets.

  • If you own a house outright, do whatever you fancy.

I am not a financial advisor. Take my advice at your peril.
