Odpm Figures

Recommended Posts

In a similar vein, anyone know when Land registry figures become available for this quarter? I assume it'll be about 3 weeks into October, but would like to know for sure. I have a couple of spreadsheets hungry for data - i'm anxious to know if the slump in volume over the last 2 or 3 quarters is going to start affecting price.

PS: If anyone has any good theories as to why volume can drop by over a third yet prices rise at the same rate... supply and demand seems to be sluggish in response, even for an illiquid market.

following on from that...

This might have been asked before but when do the land registry release house price sales for a property?

It seems to be about a month after the moving in date from what I've seen. This is in Scotland, not sure if it is different here.

The LR data usually is realised 5 weeks after the end of the quarter.

I think prices rose in the last quarter, with the low sales volume, because all the houses that are selling are the decent ones (i.e. sell for more)! And, as the LR data is a (simple) mean average, it would easily show as a rise.
