Travis Perkins Is To Shed 150 Jobs

So everythings all rosy in the house market then !!!!!!

Building materials group Travis Perkins is to shed 150 jobs as it speeds up its cost-cutting in the wake of a 7.4% fall in like-for-like retail sales at the newly-acquired Wickes.

B&Q Also announced this week that its shedding 400 jobs this week

Wimpey announce 20% fall in profits

All of the job losses are due to an "overlap" of functions. Having recently aquired Wickes, it has taken until now for TP to finish its audit of the company and decide who it doesn't need. Most of the job losses will be amongst former Wickes HQ staff and a lot of them management.

AFAIK, TP itself is not losing any of its own staff
