Estate Agent Refusing To Collect Their Sign

Recommended Posts

Have had difficult move to new place not helped by inept letting agents, one of whom is barely out of nappies and yet describes himself as a 'property professional' on his business card. Fair enough though as he has the large knot in his tie and gel in his hair to back up his claims.

Anyway, been moved into my new place some six weeks now. Despite three calls to the agent they still have not collected their 'Let' sign outside our house. I am considering:

  • Going to their office with it and shoving it point first up the ar5e of the snot-nosed no-mark property professional
  • Delivering it through their letter box (they have a generously sized letter box) which I think will take both sign and post
  • Chopping it up and using it on my chiminea

Any other suggestions?

Just tell them that you've asked several times and had no response. Tell them that if's not gone in 48 hours you shall leave it out with the rubbish to be taken away.

I used mine for firewood when I moved last time...

We had the same when we bought our last place. After a couple of friendly phone calls, I just took it down and put it behind the shed - and left an answermachine message telling them that. They came round next day to collect it.

Some cheeky ******er put a "for sale" sign outside our house once for one round the corner. That got pulled down immediately, and a crabby call to the EA concerned was made :)

Under the name of the agency use a big black marker pen to write. "are tw@ts" then call them to say someone has defaced the board and you are concerned for their reputation.

They will be round in about an hour.

Worked for me.
