Blair Pelted With Shoes And Eggs In Dublin

Recommended Posts

Guest UK Debt Slave

Eggs and shoes have been thrown at the former prime minister Tony Blair as he arrived at a book signing in Dublin.

The fact that Bliar can't go to the local papershop without a huge phallax of security guards, overhead helicopters and snipers positioned on rooftops reveals everything you need to know about the man and the damage he is responsible for.

An opportunist guttersnipe, charlatan, liar and sociopath

To hell with shoes and eggs, they should have hurled bricks at the fekker

This must be a shock to him, he spends his time jetting about the world protected by security and being fawned over by idiots who pay tens of thousands for him to speak at their functions.

Bring on the general public! :)

"I mean seriously, who throws a shoe?"

I guess it's homage to the Iraqi journalist who had a go at Bush.

Ironic that he gets attacked by socialist republican anti-war types who are not far from the IRA on the political spectrum.

Afternoon Osama :) Show me a post where I've defended Blair please. In the context of the original thread of course....

Blair should have known better than to have appeared anywhere in Ireland. The Irish have always tended to the more extreme edges of protest. I know, I've been on the receiving end of a few :D

Edit: Just read the BBC page, and I quote "The Blair supporters looking for a signed book were less vocal than the demonstrators - but they easily outnumbered them, by at least three to one". They must think a signed copy will be worth something once he's gone!

'Stretched the truth'

One of the chapters also deals with his efforts to secure peace in Northern Ireland and his relationships with the key political players.

He admitted that he often stretched the truth past breaking point to get agreement during the peace process and he admits that he took horrendous chances with the political parties.

This could well be the overall verdict on his premiership. He got away with "stretching the truth past breaking point" on Northern Ireland and, indeed, it brought about a positive and peaceful outcome. Then he tried it again with Iraq (dodgy dossiers etc), which again got the outcome he wanted, although at the price of hundred of thousands of Iraqi civilian deaths.

Much more of this bile directed to he that will become one of the great men in history & you will all be forced into a re-education programme; & at your own expense!

I was saddened by this news from Dublin

when I heard not one of the items made contact with the target <_<

It's twisted karma all round, especially for those paid to protect him but who actually hate his guts.

signed copy my ar*e

few paid extras turned up at signing for the camera, he won't risk coming in public now, with eggs & shoes.

his book is worth less than toilet paper,at least you get to use toilet paper!

your case is exceptional obviously its religeous madness with you, even your other "Israeli friends" dare not do it openly on hpc (support Blair) though he's a hero figure in Israel because he attacked Iraq based on lies & fabricated evidence as it was good for Israel, slaughtered & maimed millions innocent men, women & children, a true evil character.

Probably the most controversial claim in my work with John Mearsheimer on the Israel lobby is our argument that it played a key role in the decision to invade Iraq in 2003. Even some readers who were generally sympathetic to our overall position found that claim hard to accept, and some left-wing critics accused us of letting Bush and Cheney off the hook or of ignoring the importance of other interests, especially oil. Of course, Israel's defenders in the lobby took issue even more strenuously, usually by mischaracterizing our arguments and ignoring most (if not all) of the evidence we presented.

So I hope readers will forgive me if I indulge today in a bit of self-promotion, or more precisely, self-defense. This week, yet another piece of evidence surfaced that suggests we were right all along (HT to Mehdi Hasan at the New Statesman and J. Glatzer at Mondoweiss). In his testimony to the Iraq war commission in the U.K., former Prime Minister Tony Blair offered the following account of his discussions with Bush in Crawford, Texas in April 2002. Blair reveals that concerns about Israel were part of the equation and that Israel officials were involved in those discussions.

Take it away, Tony:

"As I recall that discussion, it was less to do with specifics about what we were going to do on Iraq or, indeed, the Middle East, because the Israel issue was a big, big issue at the time. I think, in fact, I remember, actually, there may have been conversations that we had even with Israelis, the two of us, whilst we were there. So that was a major part of all this."

Notice that Blair is not saying that Israel dreamed up the idea of attacking Iraq or that Bush was bent on war solely to benefit Israel or even to appease the Israel lobby here at home. But Blair is acknowledging that concerns about Israel were part of the equation, and that the Israeli government was being actively consulted in the planning for the war.

Blair's comments fit neatly with the argument we make about the lobby and Iraq. Specifically, Professor Mearsheimer and I made it clear in our article and especially in our book that the idea of invading Iraq originated in the United States with the neoconservatives, and not with the Israeli government. But as the neoconservative pundit Max Boot once put it, steadfast support for Israel is "a key tenet of neoconservatism."

Now war criminal Blair is promoting attack on Iran surprise, surprise!! you lot are just following the order from HQ(IsraHell)

Strange that it was always in their plan even before so called "Nuclear threat" check out Times News dated Nov 2002, when Iran had no Nuclear program in place, here Butcher Sharon is calling for attack on Iran fabrcating term terrorism. These people just want war, war, war.

ISRAEL’S Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has called on the international community to target Iran as soon as the imminent conflict with Iraq is complete.

In an interview with The Times , Mr Sharon insisted that Tehran — one of the “axis of evil” powers identified by President Bush — should be put under pressure “the day after” action against Baghdad ends because of its role as a “centre of world terror”. He also issued his clearest warning yet that Israel would strike back if attacked by Iraqi chemical or biological weapons, no matter how much Washington sought to keep its controversial Middle Eastern ally out of any war in Iraq.

In the washing up bowl of life the likes of Bliar are the scum that floats to the top.

Whatever were we collectively thinking back in the 90's?

He is funnier than any Spitting Image lampoon.

Is he coming to an Army Town for a signing...somewhere like Colchester?

Id like to know where he is to offer him a welcoming tomato. or egg. or a bible could be quite useful.

The real question comes later (when world domination is within our sights).

After the list of all those who purchased his book is published, what are we to do with the misguided souls?

So they have a choice of shoes / eggs / bricks / petrol bombs to throw

And they choose shoes / eggs

Didn't the FBI/CIA introduce us to the brainwashed "shoe bomber" (to get their airport radiation/population checks put in place?)

Brogue Bombers

Desert (boot) destructors

Platform percussives

gumboot grenades

etc

doubt it he's going to do any more signing after this, throughing things at him going to be quiet tempting every where. He's a coward, won't risk it unless its staged
