Rumours Benanke Will Announce Qe2 At 3Pm

Recommended Posts

QE2 will be desperation.

It will be interesting what he does with the money.

The US Public will be angry if it goe to bankers so they can claim they have made a profit and give themselves huge bonuses.

Is it just me or does it smack of 'QE2 means QE1 didn't work'?

If QE1 didn't work, isn't QE2 desperation?

When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem looks like a nail...

10AM NY time.

This i guess

Bernanke speaks at 10 a.m. before the Kansas City Fed's annual symposium, which is attended by central bankers, economists and academics, plus an entourage of journalists. He will make his comments behind closed doors, away from television cameras, but on the other side of the country, Wall Street will be hanging on every word.

unless one of his clones is elsewhere.

No, DOW just had a fall off a small cliff... no printing...

Some broker in NYSE says that more printing will be his Christmas according to the BBC.

Oh, and Dell has changed their minds on their forecast from only last week.

DOW dropping as he speaks

"US Double dip unlikely"

"Federal reserve ready for more unconventional steps to be taken to prevent growth stall "

Doesn't totally confirm QE mk2 ....

Interesting, the moment he opened his mouth the DOW dropped about 70 or 80 points.... so, correct me if I am wrong, if someone had spread bet 1K per point drop in the DOW they could now close that and have made 70K or 80K in 10 minutes?

Surely the only reason to listen to Ben Benanke is to find out was isn't going to happen. This guy said there wasn't going to be a recession, the fundamentals were good, sub prime was contained, etc...

He's the 2nd worst Fed Chairman ever (after Greenspan) and should be used as a contrary indicator.

You do have to wonder if someone in his family takes a punt for him ?

The DOW is now back up more or less where it begun... but if you had closed a bet within that first 10 minutes you would have done very nicely.

Still not totally sure how you spread bet - know you can bet on the markets dropping but now sure how it works about covering it going up slightly before it drops... but I expect some people who understand such things just made some dosh.
