Renault Grand Espace

mate had one

electrics are a bit suspect and servicing/running costs not too cheap either

he would not recommend

Is also French made, nuff said

I once said to a mechanic that there were no bad cars these days.He thought for a moment and then said "Except Renaults". Yes eletrics/electronics are a nightmare and only the main dealers have the gear to fix,and they lift your leg big style. This model is very prone to loss of top gear and it's a grand to fix.If it is anything but silent in top under power walk away briskly.

I know one person who had an older one and had many problems so would never have one again.

And another person who bought one new 4 years ago and was desperate to replace it last year as there were so many problems; although he had liked it originally.

That'll be a "no" then.

I am looking at a few of these circa 2002/ 2003.

Does anyone have any experience or advice?

Looking at a 2.2 turbo diesel

Good but French. Which is OK if you live in France (cheaper to fix, insurance etc). I'd get one over here, wouldn't consider it in England.
