This just in from Auntie:

Passenger numbers fall at Gatwick Airport

Passenger numbers at Gatwick Airport fell last month, it has been revealed.
In July the West Sussex airport handled 3.43 million people, a 3.1% decrease on figures from July 2009.
North Atlantic passenger numbers experienced the biggest dip, falling by 12.0%, while traffic from the Irish Republic was down 11.7%.
The UK's second biggest airport said the amount of cargo carried on flights to and from Gatwick increased by 95% compared with July 2009.

Cargo increase seems anomalous.

I must keep a look out. I go past the site once a month at least. At first I thought it was a graveyard as most of the planes are old stuff. Hope they check em thoroughly for sand in the crevices. Very painful.
