New To Buy To Let

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and find the community very informative and helpful.

I've previously posted this in the wrong section of the forum so here I go again, hopefully in the right part this time.

I'm considering purchasing a property to let, I would like to know if anyone has any experience with so called "guaranteed rent schemes" as they seem too good to be true. Is it worth your time after the agent has taken their cut of the rent or do you walk away happy?

any information, advice or past experience would be greatly appreciated, or even any recommendations of other letting agents or estate agents would be great.

Thanks in advanced.

If something seems too good to be true then it probably is.

No personal experience, but I have seen newspaper articles saying that they were not as good as they seemed to be.

The only concrete example I can recently think of was in Dubai (think it was probably on Homes from Hell!)

Anyway, hopefully someone here will know someone who knows someone.
