I'm liking it so far. Cumberbatch is a surprisingly good Holmes.

I thought Mark Gatiss was always slightly sinister on the League of Gentlemen. He is also a co-writer.

I watched about half an hour. I thought it was awful. Sherlock's deductions were ridiculous. It was a sort of more 'Dr. Who meets Little Britain'.

'The owner is so permanently @rseholed, Watson, that he nearly destroys his phone each time he charges it...'

I really enjoyed it.

Didn't even once find myself nodding off, which is more than I can say for 97% of the stuff I start watching.

+1 and there were some laughs too. I thought it worked well.

I enjoyed it too. A few over the top bits but not out of keeping with traditional SH stories.

I enjoyed it but my only gripe was that SH 2010 was more aloof and arrogant than a.c.doyles creation; the original holmes character was never afraid of showing his genius but was more tempered with those around him, except for perhaps le'strad!

I went to see that new Sherlock Holmes film late last year. I took Porn with me.

A Yank called Randy Ponce is my best so far.

I enjoyed it. Pretty good dialogue and it looked lovely in HD. Couple of laughs... not too bad, will be watching again. Yes he is arrogant and that characterisation is a little heavy handed but the rest of it was handled very well I thought.

Apparently that's the name of a chain of "gent's outfitters"!

Hmm!

I enjoyed the first episode. Holmes 'deduction' is preposterous, but it has always been so. The 'taxi driver' solution was far too easy to spot though - probably a conceit to make the viewer feel clever - but there were some nice twists at the end.

I'm no great Holmes fan, but I did get a lot of the in-jokes. The 'three patch problem' amused me.

Cop Porn? (The charming local policewoman.)

EDIT: I really enjoyed Sherlock last night, BTW. A rare moment for the BBC in my world.

A friend of mine, a prostitute named Porn, works out of my best Japanese friends' bar. Went for grub, art gallery, movie, then back to Hiro's for coffee and I toddled off to bed.

It's a kitsch thing.

Enjoyed it on the whole, although I felt the story dipped a fair bit in the middle. Will watch again.
