LONDON (Reuters) - Lending to firms contracted for a third consecutive month in May and major banks approved fewer mortgages in June, according to figures from the Bank of England that provide further

Excellent news for the future prosperity of this country.

Unfortunatly it's been eclipsed in the media by the irrelvant gross lending increase from the CML.

Yes, because everything is ok now that people are borrowing more to buy less...

Fewer mortgages being approved at a higher value shows that it's only higher end properties selling. Ie upsizers and downsizers exchanging between themselves with few new entries to the Market.
