Curious?

Recommended Posts

Just plugged in my usual monday morning rightmove search to see whats come on over the weekend.

Out of 26 entries one local estate agent has posted 12 properties straight on at SOLD STC, with no photo's.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/find.html?locationIdentifier=REGION%5E1382&maxDaysSinceAdded=3&radius=3.0&includeSSTC=true&_includeSSTC=on

Apart from some gullible twonk thinking that they must be really good at selling houses, what benefit would they gain from this?

Apart from the making them look bigger and more successful suckering people in?

Road up to Bowlee carboot suddenly grew some estate agent signs last week - and susprisingly they're sold too.

Amazing.

I'd say report them to planning :)

Cheffins have done this in Cambridgeshire, they claimed it was computer error when I called them about it (!). I assume it was just to dominate the rightmove listings so new sellers are impressed. Just as in the same way that property papers sometimes have a page of sold (more required!) houses to impress their potential customers.

My understanding (which may be wrong) is that EAs pay rightmove on a per-agency-office fee rather than per-listing fee so it doesnt cost anything to do this.

VMR.
