_w_
Looks like they've finally flogged it. STC. Fulfords Not much about the "over" as in "offers over" then! Probably some blonde thinking 'Wow, what a bargain, it was at £3m to begin with!". The house to buy is the one higher up on the hill. 1swellfoop
n the article it says: and houseprices.co.uk says: 13/08/2007 £412,500 The Old Bakehouse, Tuckenhay, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 7EQ Can anyone a bit more knowledgeable be able to tell me if the £412,500 was the price he paid for his share, or would the house have been reported at a proportionate value to his share (e.g assuming 2 people inherit he paid £206,250 and then it was reported at twice this.) Either way, whoever owned the other share had a very well, albeit lucky, timed exit According to this website http://www.homebuilding.co.uk/your-projects/renovating-traditional-riverside-cottage the building cost £1.5million (if I remember, he inherited a portion and bought the rest of the inheritors out) and he spent a further £1 million doing it up. Remind me to sign up to one of his business coaching seminars http://www.jonathanblain.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=97&Itemid=135 so I too can make business decisions like this and get filthy rich. I have a feeling this £3.65million beauty http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=163906 is going to make an even more spectacular loss, my bet is it goes for less than £500k. That's assuming the 'Old Bakehouse' has really been sold for £650k. I doubt it has.

The one on the river would make a fine place to rent for a few days holiday, though.

copydude
Yep. that's standard repo procedure. I don't know what to say. When house prices are way over a silly amount, it's all about where and how you want to live . . even eccentricities. I'm not sure you can relate this to a normal market. The conversion appears tasteful and professional, but not thoughtful. The kitchen appears miniature . . . for most people, the most occupied room in the house. The garden is over the road. No garage. Some people will love it, but it's not a snip, is it.
