ScrewsNutsandBolts
Just seen an advert for "landlord insurance" by Direct Line. Clearly aimed at the reluctant/accidental landlord rather than the occupational BTLers. So... do Direct Line believe that these accidental landlords will tend to remain landlords rather than sell at a loss ? Further stagnation in sales ? Snugglybear
Yes, I noticed this advert a couple of days ago. The insurance company has evidently looked at the housing market, seen that not a lot of property is selling but that plenty is to let, and thinks it's spotted a niche. I wonder whether they'll advise prospective customers to tell their mortgage providers and HMRC that they're letting a property.
RufflesTheGuineaPig
I wonder whether they'll advise prospective customers to tell their mortgage providers and HMRC that they're letting a property. "Are you sure you don't want to renew your policy? Because it's standard procedure when customers leave us to inform their bank and HMRC that they are renting their property out"
lets get it right
All part of the drip, drip, drip of the growing divide into those that own property and those that don't.
