28 Million Brittons Shun Savings

Here is some news we already knew. Brittons relying too much on property for future savings.

AN estimated 28 million Britons are failing to save money on a regular basis, research showed today.

Only 42 per cent of people regularly put money aside, with most people saying they plan to rely on equity in their property instead, according to bank Abbey.

Back to the topic, it's no surprise that so few save. Often they probably can't afford to, or simply just aren't interested. I save a lot of my monthly income and I often think (in this Gordon Clown economy) "What's the point?".

Saving runs contrary to the instant gratification, "I want it now" sentiments which currently dominate our society.
