Bob Crow Issues ‘Call To Arms’ Over Strike Threat

I have no hesitation in saying that it will take general and coordinated strike action across the public and private sectors to stop their savage assault on jobs, living standards and public services.

I could see why the miners unions had some power - we were not as internationalised as we are now, and cutting off the coal supply could threaten the UK economy seriously. This was tricky.

But what on earth does Bob Crow think he can possibly achieve with this? For the sake of the public sector workers I hope they do not all go on strike as they will lose so much more for doing so, as there is nothing left to give them. And I fail to see why the private sector would go on strike to protect the public sector. The man's delusional.

Are public sector workers paid when they strike?

If they aren't paid whilst on strike they can strike 'til kingdom come. Let's see if anyone notices.

The cultural diversity officers can strike and nobody would notice. To prevent this they have to close the London tube network etc. What strikes me about his call to close down all government workers is how they can do it. Surely there is a case for the monopolies commission to break up public sector unions. Unison breaks the monopolies laws.

Not quite sure why he's asking private sector people to support him.

Everyone I know in the UK support the cuts and think they should have been given BIG pay cuts.

The leeches at the top with the massive salaries and pensions should be banged up for theft from the public and their assests/pensions seized.

That's how the people I know think about the cuts.

simply because he knows just how little leverage he has if JUST public sector workers go on strike, and what little effect that would have. He requires the private sector too because only in that way can he get even close to causing any damage. Won't manage it of course.

I have no hesitation in agreeing that Bob Crow is utter , utter moron... listening to him on radio yesterday was like comedy hour.

As an alternative to cutting staf or pay or conditions of HIS workers... he proposed higher rate taxes beyond 50% ( what an idiot, clearly he has no economic understanding whatsoever), when told this he then said there are other things that could be cut.. he claimed cutting trident would save £70bn ( until of course it was pointed out to him that the yearly cost is something like £3bn) so finally he ummed and ahhed and came up with cutting ID cards ( already cut).

In other words he had absolutely no workable ideas at all on what could be cut to replace the cuts to public sector workers yet he was still intending to lead us into a strike which would further damage the coutnry and lead to even further cuts to his precious members.

Apart from anything there seemed to be absolutely no acceptance that if Labour had properly managed its public expenditure budgets over the last ten years or so then many of his precious members shouldn't actually have been employed in the first place, as we couldn't afford it, or shouldn't have afforded it during labours damaging period in office.

He has to do something for that - even if it's the wrong thing.

BOB CROW, RMT - £128,226

Pay: £84,923 Pension contributions: £28,088 Expenses: £9,931 Travel (including petrol): £5,284

The guy's a crook and anyone who pays union fees is a stupid mug.

Makes me laugh.. he gets a bigger salary rise than many of his "workers", his pension contributions are higher than the national average wage alone, his expenses are staggeringly high ( and probably first class) and all funded out of the pockets of the workforce he claims to represent...

Crow is no moron - quite an intelligent guy actually - It's his job to support his union's members - the guys who pay his salary. PS. agree on union salaries - the union fat cats should earn the median salary for their membershup. Hypocritical champagne socialists.

The unions can do all they want - they're not going to reverse the inevitable.

If you'd heard him on the radio struggling to come up with alternatives to public service cuts and struggling to justify their benefits you certainly wouldn't have called him intelligent.... even if you don't agree he is a moron then I think most can agree his arguments are moronic as he seeks to defend the indefensible.

Let em strike. Who gives a sh1te, they don't get paid so the deficit reduces much quicker than planned and there is no money to cave into their demands, so its win win or lose lose depending which side of the argument you are on.

Seriously, it would be the biggest own goal ever scored. The sheeple would see how much 'front line' there real is and call the bluff of the substantial back office 'support'.

Show me a socialist, I will show you a hypocrite.
