Great Reform Bill Website

I think that this is Mr Clegg's finest idea. Whether the powers that be will let it work as suggested is another story altogether. Anyway, go to..........

........and fill your boots.

As the ideas will be rated, it may be an idea to draw attention to your entries here. You might get a bit of support!

So may people have ideas that the site has crashed.

Tells us a lot about what the people actually think about the Blair / Brown legacy.

It also tells us that people who felt disenfranchised by the lack of appealing alternatives under a representative democracy will probably become more engaged in a more direct democracy.

I think that this is Mr Clegg's finest idea.

First Proposed by Daniel Hannan and Douglas Carswell, both tech Savy and and an understanding of real sentiment in the population...

http://www.talkcarsw...ow.aspx?id=1397

The initial draft was created in a wiki by the web users here : http://en.wikiversit...eat_Repeal_Bill

Cameron Picked it up and turned it into central conservative policy

and to think some people dont rate Daniel Hannan..

I'm not much concerned about who thought of it first. Mr Clegg has arrived in a position to do something about it.

Would repealing the Inclosure and Enclosure Acts be a step too far? It's not much fun getting your freedom back if you don't have somewhere to exercise it.

Once I can access the site I'll be suggesting getting rid of blasphemy law.

Oh the irony. We all come to OT to gob off about how we'd run the world so much better, and here we have an opportunity to put our ideas across directly to the government...yet this thread is dying on its ****.

My fault for not introducing an element of smut into the title.

So what's so different from this and the previous petitions website. Ideas which chime with the agenda will be published - those that don't won't.

No, that's the main forum where this valuable thread should rightly be.

The is the OT. It's for proper nonsense only.

I'm trying to post something about speed camera placement but the site is completely overloaded.

One of the errors is "Guru Meditation".

ScreenHunter_03 Jul. 01 13.30.jpg

I looked it up on Wiki -

"Guru Meditation is the name of the error that occurred on early versions of the Commodore Amiga computer when they crashed."

Surely they can do better than that!

How about this for a list?

The Counter-Terrorism Bill 2008

The Terrorism Act 2006

The Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005

Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Secutiry Act 2001

Terrorism Act 2000

Terrorism acts seem to have been almost annual events under Nu Labour

I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned the Wireless Telegraphy Acr 1904 yet.

+1 for the Digital Economy Act though.

Edit:

That should be the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1967. We could do Part 4 of the Communications Act 2003 and the Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004 at the same time.

I've finally got my post up. Linky.

Dying horribly for me.

Do you fancy also suggesting as part of yours that all speed cameras should have a speed limit sign affixed to them so people know what speed limit it is enforcing?

The setting of speed limits as you pointed out seem some what arbitrary, some dual carriageways are 30mph and some are 70mph and junctions are often so busy and full of signs that it is easy to miss a speed limit sign when you are focussing on the traffic and not reading all the signs.
