IMO this is not about drip feeding, it's essentially a binary bet. Either the US gov't screws BP into the ground for whatever reason (mid-term elections, asset grab) in which case the shares are gonna drop further, or the parties settle at $20/30bn and life goes on for BP, in which case you'll make some money in the next couple of years.

Factor in commodity inflation, and the upside gets better. I've not had the balls yet though ;)
