Think it is nonsense personally.

BP have already agreed to pay for the spills and is putting billions into an escrow account.

The US companies who killed thousands in India just hid behind lawyers.

I suspect most Americans have no idea what US companies do overseas.

Indeed - I don't recall the CEO involved in the Bhopal matter being vilified in a local Kangaroo court on live television, just prior to elections. <_<

Bloody Americans - awfully good at sanctimoniously dishing the crap, but not so good at taking responsibility for their own failings, particularly when up for re-election. It's all panto.

What US Scientists Are Forbidden To Tell The Public About The Gulf: Oil Volcano Pressure Too Strong For Containment

DateJune 15, 2010

It has been estimated by experts that the pressure which blows the oil into the Gulf waters is estimated to be between 20,000 and 70,000 PSI (pounds per square inch). Impossible to control.

What US Scientists Are Forbidden To Tell The Public About The Gulf

Take a U. S. map, lay it flat and measure inland just the minimum 50 miles of total destruction all around the Gulf of Mexico as to what you will read below.

The carnage to the United States is so staggering, it will take your breathe away.

Should what the scientists who are trying to warn everyone about be even close to being true... all of Florida will be completely destroyed as will everyone and everything on it.

You decide!! Everyone has the right to read what I have just written in this article, as well as to what is written below by the scientists who the Obama administration and BP are trying to shut up.

Summary of What is Happening

The estimated super high pressure release of oil from under the earth's crust is between 80,000 to 100,000 barrels per day.

The flow of oil and toxic gases is bringing up with it... rocks and sand which causes the flow to create a sandblasting effect on the remaining well head device currently somewhat restricting the flow, as well as the drilled hole itself.

As the well head becomes worn it enlarges the passageway allowing an ever-increasing flow. Even if some device could be placed onto the existing wellhead, it would not be able to shut off the flow, because what remains of the existing wellhead would not be able to contain the pressure.

The well head piping is originally about 2 inches thick. It is now likely to be less than 1 inch thick, and thinning by each passing moment. The oil has now reached the Gulf Stream and is entering the Oceanic current which is at least four times stronger than the current in the Gulf, which will carry it throughout the world within 18 months.

The oil along with the gasses, including benzene and many other toxins, is deleting the oxygen in the water. This is killing all life in the ocean. Along with the oil along the shores, there will be many dead fish, etc. that will have to be gathered and disposed of.

Summary of Expectations

At some point the drilled hole in the earth will enlarge itself beneath the wellhead to weaken the area the wellhead rests upon. The intense pressure will then push the wellhead off the hole allowing a direct unrestricted flow of oil, etc.

The hole will continue to increase in size allowing more and more oil to rise into the Gulf. After several billion barrels of oil have been released, the pressure within the massive cavity five miles beneath the ocean floor will begin to normalize.

This will allow the water, under the intense pressure at 1 mile deep, to be forced into the hole and the cavity where the oil was. The temperature at that depth is near 400 degrees, possibly more.

The water will be vaporized and turned into steam, creating an enormous amount of force, lifting the Gulf floor. It is difficult to know how much water will go down to the core and therefore, its not possible to fully calculate the rise of the floor.

The tsunami wave this will create will be anywhere from 20 to 80 feet high, possibly more. Then the floor will fall into the now vacant chamber. This is how nature will seal the hole.

Depending on the height of the tsunami, the ocean debris, oil, and existing structures that will be washed away on shore and inland, will leave the area from 50 to 200 miles inland devoid of life. Even if the debris is cleaned up, the contaminants that will be in the ground and water supply will prohibit re-population of these areas for an unknown number of years.

The spill isn't over. It's going on right now at an increased rate. The sea floor is reported to be fracturing. $20bn won't be anywhere near enough.

Suspect this won't be enough, and think that BP will Chapter 11 their US subsidiary in the end.

But listening to the hearings I was amazed at how many offshore blow outs occur, on average one a year?

This will probably kill of new offshore drilling, indeed one congress woman for Florida stated how they had resisted the industrialisation of the Florida coastline, and closer insure drilling despite being assured the technology was "safe." Clearly it isn't.

But the biggest looser? The US and its gas guzzling economy.

:D

Hmmmmm . . . much of this is ********, no?

Think about the latent heat of water, sea waters specific heat capacity, the volumes going down the hole and the volume of the water body above it, the permeability of the previously oil bearing strata, the diameter of the hole and flow rates and pressures (from steam tables etc) with the pressure of sea water above acting on the pressure of steam ejecting from the hole, the equipartition of energy . . .

At best, reckon you'll get a little under sea geezer for an hour. A guess. An uninformed guess.

What temperature is the oil coming out at? Okay, oil will act to cool a strata better than water, which will change phase (turn to steam) obviously at 400C, but how long before that water cools the strata?

Tis' t-t-t-interesting stuff, but all these prophecies of doom (particularly from the likes of that Alex whateverhisnameis) are going to leave a lot of egg on tin foil hats.

We need to pick these TFH articles apart with real numbers and models because anyone could write this end of the world stuff . . . and anyone is.

Interesting scenarios to model though. As an exercise in mental masturbation.

I guess theres so much TFH stuff out there, BP/USG just don't bother challenging it.

This will allow the water, under the intense pressure at 1 mile deep, to be forced into the hole and the cavity where the oil was. The temperature at that depth is near 400 degrees, possibly more.

There is no cavity where the oil was, and temperature increases about 35C per kilometer. Whoever wrote this is an attention seeking monkey.

Some of the pressure estimates are ridiculous, some claim upto 120,000psi.

The pressure comes from the columnar pressure of the 2.5 miles of overlying rocks, if this material was as dense as gold the pressure would be about 105,000psi, if it is the density of basalt (which is probably what it is made of) the pressure would be around 15,000psi + 4-5000psi for the water and atmosphere.

So either this oil field has the largest densest nuget of gold in the world on top of it, or someone is picking numbers out of the air to make their story sound exciting.

I am fascinated by this topic and turn of events, keep up the interesting analysis

In legal, economic, political, geological, also love the idea of a Godzilla type creature

Massive cavity? Oil comes from porous rock, not some fantasy hollow oil-filled dome.

This will allow the water, under the intense pressure at 1 mile deep, to be forced into the hole and the cavity where the oil was. The temperature at that depth is near 400 degrees, possibly more.

This guy's been watching too many underwater volcanic vents. This isn't a volcanic vent.

The water will be vaporized and turned into steam

Vaporised and turned into steam? WOOOOOOWWWWW.

Except even volcanic vents dont create steam at those depths, because the pressure is several f***ing tons per square inch.

Executive Summary: America's self-apponted 'leading Health & Nutrition Expert' knows b*gg*r all about oil wells. Or basic science, it would seem. And his 'link', to the 'source', doesn't.

There are some things I don't understand about Godzilla.

When he comes out of the water, what is he standing on ? Clearly the water is deep enough to hide him, then he appears out of nowhere. Are his legs paddling furiously just beneath the water to keep him afloat ? Or is he standing on some sort of platform that he pushes around ?

He's big, but clearly not 6000 feet big. So what's going on ?

I think a Godzilla type monster might be the answer to this issue. He could swim down and drink the oil coming out of the leaking pipe. Then he could swim up to the surface and puke up the oil. At the same time he could do that flamethrower trick and incinerate the oil in one massive fireball.

that should put paid to sea level rise then....

This is all really a cover up.

Secretly, this was a plan to drill through the Earth's mantle to tap the vast lake of oil known* to exist beneath the Earth's mantle, at a depth of no less than 3000 kilometers. However, once the 32 trillion barrels** oil oil have finished covering all the world's oceans to a depth of several meters***, it will get EVEN WORSE - the hole will collapse and a great geyser of molten magma will jet through, rising to a height of over 500 kilometers, raining great chunks on molten lava onto the whole planet and setting the entire oil covered oceans on fire!

And if that wasn't bad enough, when that eruption is finished, the entire contents of the Earth's liquid iron core will come out of multiple fissures as the crust cracks and falls into the mantle, covering the entire world in a thick layer of molten metal EVERYONE WILL DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH!! 100% GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
