Raising Capital Gains Tax Will 'devastate' Entrepreneurs, Warns Sir Alan Sugar

Recommended Posts

Perhaps someone should inform "Sralan" that there's a separate "entrepreneur's relief" that means a real entrepreneur, with a proper business, only pays 10% CGT on the first £2 million! (doubled from £1 million in the last budget).

He did see that.

He said that a 2 million allowance was a pittance and not worth having.

So he wants massive inflation instead in order to protect his property investments. I suppose he's right, £2 million isn't worth having, not when a loaf of bread is £100,000, no. :P

Why do we have to pay for this shit head to abuse people on the BBC? Mind you, if you willingly bow down before him like he's some kind of God then you deserve what you get.

"Entrepreneur's relief" is not available for property investments so, to be fair, this isn't his motivation for the complaint.

The weirdly undead Norman Tebbitt was banging on about this guff in the Telegraph the other day. The answer's simple CGT should be low (or perhaps even non-existent) on productive enterprise - which does not include BTL parasites.
