Newsnight Now. Labour Leadership Candidates Put Their Case

Recommended Posts

This is one subject that I have absolutley zero interest in. What a bunch of has beens and liars. Where is the fresh new blood to rejuvanate the Labour party.

2 points

I did not put newsnight on as I thought the establishment would still be getting their moneys worth out of the Bloody Sunday antics.

Have the beeb got a death wish, they are still acting like the nu labour media wing.

I won't watch it, but if I had to choose someone to 'run' the Labour party it would have to be either Diane Abbott or Andy Burnham. Miliband 1 doesn't appear to have a problem with torture or extraordinary rendition. Miliband 2 admitted that he is just a salesman and will push any old crap he's told to (global warming), Ed Balls - no comment necessary.

At least you could probably like DA or AB outside of politics and besides I hear AB has got a lovely new kitchen.

I want some muppet running Labour who thinks that new socialism lies midway between left and right and as far away from libertarianism as possible. This will force the LibDemCons to move firmly onto the Whiggy/Liberal ground the party elites seem to favour. The proper Tories can then split off into the right wing wilderness, where at least they can kill off the BNP in the darkness.

the one who is renowned on the international stage as a jumped up arrogant adolescent?

When even the russian foreign minister retorts with,"who the **** are you to lecture me?".Hardly the basis for businesslike negotiations is it?

Personally,I would have preferred to see somebody like alan johnson get the role.....he seems sort of normal.

Normal with just a large hint of Hitler about him.

Diane Abbott?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

She's got ZERO credibility.

Apparently, her relationship with Andrew Neill soured somewhat after he challanged her about sending here kids to private school. A ghastly hypocrite and harridan. I'd rather have Pol Pot running the labour party than her.

I see your point. Sending your kids to private school is a shocking crime in comparison to illegal wars, turning a blind eye to torture and snatching people of the streets.

It doesn't matter who fronts Labour.

Their core philosophy is all wrong

Hypocritical politicians are the most shocking criminals of all

Unfortunately, that's pretty much all of them but Diane Abbott is a hypocrite par excellence

Agree with much of that. I'd like to see the left of the Lib Dems move back to the Labour party, with the progressive Conservatives moving closer to the Lib Dems. Rename the Lib Dems back to Liberal Party, taking a classical-Liberal path again. We can then condemn the 100 year long Labour fad to history, leaving the Whigs and the Tories to fight it out again.

Sadly, I don't think it will turn out quite like that, but it will be interesting to see how the right leaning Lib Dems and the progressive Conservatives get along in the coming years.
