Still Want To Buy "cheap" Bp Stock?

Recommended Posts

Major gaffe comparing the spill to 9-11. Something is going to have give, Obama wants his pound of flesh and more. BP is going to have start fighting back or they are finshed.

America's desire for oil will always give, until they have control of more than they need

but who allowed them to drill there? who sign the paper work? can you just blame BP? those are the questions that BP should be asking.

is not AMOCO also part of BP. Have to say I have shares in BP bought at the privatisation so not a huge exposure and dividens have been good up till now. Cannot compare the leak to 9/11 as the latter was a deliberate act carried out by people of evil intent.

Knife catching BP. buyers might want to hedge with "CLH" Clean Harbors Inc (NYSE), they're paid to clean up the mess.

One's loss is anothers gain.

Or short BP. Long CLH.

Congress and President Obama have a political Kobyashi Maru here.

MMS is 100% responsible for approving the well casing changes made on the rig - changes that, were they not approved, would have likely prevented the blowout in the first place.

But MMS is the Obama Administration and those changes were approved just days before the blast. And while BP selected the design and implementation they used, they didn't do it in a vacuum - they did so with the full permission of the government's so-called "regulators."

Oops.

President Obama doesn't want to discuss this, of course. Did you notice the lack of an MMS representative at the hearings today? Guess why? Yep. Start asking about those permits and the rubber stamp at the MMS office, and you're going to get a lot of stuttering in response.

All the noise is related to the mid terms.  I just looked at the latest technical update from BP and I'd say they are making fairly solid progress in containing the leak.  It will take a while to drill the relief holes, but bear in mind they are also now collecting using pumping ships as well.

I suspect once the leak is stopped, the Gulf will clear up pretty quickly given it is such a big body of water.  That said, Hurricane season is a risk if they haven't stopped the flow as it makes work much harder.
