Itv Played An Advert During The England Goal On Hd

Recommended Posts

I'd love to see some of those "reaction shots" they have of great pubs full of people cheering - when they were treated to a Hyundai advert instead of a goal!

Lucky b&stards. I'd trade that game for 94 mins of hyundai adverts anytime.

One minute it was in midfield - then "the advert" - then a mad scramble of accusations and blame for the remote (which was never found) - then England players celebrating to general consternation and moans.

Nice one ITV.

not for the first time.

ITV's coverage of football is a joke at the best of times, now we have Adrian Chiles asking such crass questions to Patrick Viera, I watched the game but switch over when he started talking, utter tosh, no wonder that female presenter off The One Show decided Fat Frank was a better choice of company

<br />Watching it back, it is comedy gold. <img src='http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /><br />

Great larf!

Reminds me of the French film 'Amelie' when she sits on the roof, pulling out the tv ariel of the bloke who wound her up, just before his team scores!

Great film!

More than 1m fans are said to have shelled out on a HDTVs specifically to watch England games in HD at homeā€¦

I expect the irony more than makes up for it.

I also imagine it went down in the big pubs and cinema venues with a few Noel-Coward-like quips of wry enjoyment and dry good-natured humour.

I image some "tusk"ing and knee slapping as well, fortunately we're never ones to take a game too seriously

ITV are bloody incompetent!

This same thing happened last year in the last moments of the Liverpool Everton Cup game.

They cut to a crap advert just as Everton scored the winning goal.

Plus their actual coverage of the England game was rubbish. Constant slow mo replays whilst the game was actually playing.

Instead of paying Mr Bloke Chiles a ridiculous amount of money they should invest a bit into their technical side.

I just pray ITV do not have the sole rights to the Final.

The BBC are light years ahead.

Reportedly on AV forums they are saying it is not ITV's fault - it hit Spain and France too. (Not sure why they'd be showing a Hyundai advert about that old British football chestnut of eating oranges at half time and an ITV HD test card, mind.)

I watched the game live on Spanish terrestrial TV and seen the goal as it happened.

Hyundai got that advertising slot cheap

Or Oscar Wilde?

"To miss one goal is unfortunate, to miss two might look like carelessness".

A friend of mine has a theory that England rarely do well when ITV handle the coverage.

Not convinced it was even in HD. Most if ITV's "HD" output seems to be "upscaled HD" Those hooters are starting to get very annoying. Not to worry, England will be packing for home soon. I only wish Scotland and Wales were stronger, then we wouldn't have to be put through this torture at every World Cup.

If we get the 2018 World Cup won't ITV be joint host broadcaster?

Never quite understand what Adrian Chiles has got he appears to be the luckiest bloke alive with the wages he's getting paid.

Adrian Chiles is a joke. Not sure why ITV thought he was the right man for the job.

I think Adrian Chiles is a good presenter. Also seems to suffer like the rest of us when England play. I had to go and build a bookcase when the match was on as I couldn't stand the stress!

The replays are beyond a joke.

It's like "Oooh, we've got super-slomo HD on every camera. Let's show Capello wiping his nose."

Can't blame ITV though for that. It's the host broadcaster providing coverage.

Couple the slomos with the continual trumpeting and a tournament that I was looking forward to has become shockingly bad.

This really pissed me off.

I am now making a stand and deciding that I will never, ever, in no circumstances, ever buy a Hyundai.

Oh and ITV suck . The incompetent, useless pathetic excuse of a television company. Why do they keep having foreign players as pundits ?? It's like listening to a really slow, boring ,unemotional diatribe every half time.

ITV = C*nts.

Edit to add : Along with Kevin Bloody Keegan !!
