Net Migration Still On The Up

Recommended Posts

Looking at the chart, it seems quite clear that migration took a big upward swing when labour came to power (from around 60k to 135k) and hasn't stopped.

What does Labour have to do with it? Apart from a dip in 1996 and 1997, the slope is pretty consistent from 1991 through to 2003, under both Conservative and Labour governments.

Also, I'm pretty sure that emigration is substantially up under NuLab (fuelled not only by social decay, but largely by 'free money' from house price inflation). So if the net figures are up, that means that immigration must be hugely up to compensate for all the people who are leaving.
