Anecdotal but a friend of mine has just had an offer for 480K accepted on a pwoperty 675K 18 months ago :)

just has to sell his now.

Yeah, I'm afraid I was cooking chips after the pub last night. Long and the short of it is that granite work surfaces are much less fire resistant than you might expect. We're looking at offers over 380k.

If you look at the actual ad then you see the EA is practically begging someone to buy it.

Or this one which even featured on the NI house of the year show

Many who bought with debt over the last few years are going to find themselves up a large gumtree with no escape route.

Looks like a bust hotel with probably ten or so pissheads who live in the bar, you could act out scenes from "Straw Dogs" while the fat one porks your wife over the pool table. 200k soon and still won`t sell.

How does this one at £174k sit in the market? How is it priced against historical valuations and others in the area? Seems like a nice property and Google Maps makes it look quite a nice area as well, is this the case?

Agree my interest lies solely with commercial businesses. Over the last three years I have seen high proportion of freehold shops/going concerns not find a buyer.

This year 2010 prices are dropping by at least 20% in commercial value.

Business owners are one the best indicators of the way this country heading, from chatting to customers, drop in turnover and supplier costs.

Why don't I move north? Because there is more to life than house prices.

I have a lot of friends in Surrey that I wouldn't want to be 300 miles from.

I wouldn't pay 300k for that house. But I'd rather wait and pay 200k for it, than move away from my friends and pay 140k.

I'm from the Midlands originally too, but treacherous though it may be to say it, I prefer the South.

I'm stuck, living in the south (originally from Leeds).

No way would I move back. Love it here, even though it's expensive. Standard of living here is so much better.
