Disappointed, I thought this might be about the footballers who have large BTL empires, like Robbie Fowler, but it's just snobby derision of footballers and WAGs tastes.

They spend millions buying an old Victorian/Georgian country house and do it up how they want it - so what? It's their home, not an investment - isn't that what people on this site keep saying?

No it's as much about money not buying you sense or taste.

“They then move on and want to sell quickly. Everyone knows why they are selling and the price starts to fall. Footballers often don’t listen to specialist property advice and under pressure from agents make bad financial decisions.”

Sarah Beeny would have wet her pants laughing at "gold-plated ceilings and monogrammed his and hers gates and carpets . "

Buying a house and living it in is one thing, but they're selling now...

Meh, they can afford to lose the money so it's no great loss to them. I don't share their taste and I don't have their money but I won't begrudge them wasting money on shiny things if that's what they want to do.

To be frank it's pretty entertaining because you get to laugh at their bad taste and also their neighbours reactions! Most of the neighbours are just as bad in their own ways (I'm thinking around Cheshire here...) so no real harm done.
