Pauly_Boy
Because that's not provocative!! What right does Iran have to escort boats in to isreali waters? If they try it it's not going to end well and Iran will be the ones to blame.

Well, technically international waters I imagine that using the same legal argument as the Israeli's they have every right to escort a ship through international waters and against a self-declared Israeli blockade. On the other hand it is just as stupid as the Israeli's shooting up a boat full of protesters then publicising the fact that they might award them all medals This has really stirred up a sh1t storm. Alibear
What does this have to do with house prices btw? Oil up = Goods and services up. Spending affordability down. War = uncertainty for the future/fear. Financial flight sto safety. House prices down in Israel / Gaza / Iran. I'm sure somewhere along the line it will affect the UK. RufflesTheGuineaPig
Iran has 4 full sized submarines, including 3 of russian design, 4 frigates, 3 corvettes, 24 missile boats, plus 3 de-activated destroyers which could be re-activated if needed, plus a selection of small patrol boats, mine layers, sweeps, re-fuel an restock craft etc etc. They also have a number of new state-of-the-art frigates being built and due to be finished soon. The Iran/Iraq war was just a proxy war between Russia and the US, allow them to test the effectiveness of some rather nasty chem and bio weapons without losing their own people or starting WW3. It was little more than a huge weapons testing exercise using real people.

indirectapproach
I suspect the Iranians may pose some asymmetric threat at sea in their own back yard. The suggestion they can project power into the med ..... risible. They Egyptians receive too much aid from the US for them to use Suez, so they gonna go round the cape, tunnel, or what?
