Help - Property Ladder

Recommended Posts

Last night I watched the property ladder, it may have been a repeat on a sky channel, it featured two young ladies who bought an art deco house in Poole, Dorset for £375K did it up for £233K slightly exceeding the budget by £133K and ignored the EA's valuations to put it up for £700K+

Does anyone know any more details, (I have tried PH website) did it sell, what road was it on?

When was the programme made?

All I can add is that it is at least a year old.

I saw this programme and haven't had a tv for at least that length of time.

It was the one where they completely lost the meaning of Deco i.e. miminalist! Grouping of select pieces.......not!!!!

I'm sure somebody will come in with an update, but it definately didn't sell by the time the program went out, or for a fair while after.

It was on about a year or so ago so right at the peak of the market, but it was just priced way too high.

take it it looks like they are going to make a loss then???

No-ones going to put it on for 700k when you have spent more than that.

The titanic story comes along that you might as well go down with the ship!

and tell me if it is the same house

If it is the same house it certainly looks like they've toned it down a lot.

Before and after pictures from C4 are here...

Look at the pictures of the hallways of the two houses. I'm sure they're different.

The Ebay one looks bigger and has curved walls while the other one doesn't seem too IMO.

Don't think it is, it's a while since I saw the show but I think it was set back from the road a lot further and had more land than this one.

Having lived near poole when the program came out I took particular interest, and a couple of months ago I had another look around the web to see if it was still up for sale...

I couldn't find it anywhere, which means it either sold (but for how much?) or was taken off the market and rented or something.

As for it being sold, I checked out nethouseprices for it in the road that everyone said it was in and couldn't see a sale for anyhting remotely close to the asking or likely sale figure, but then I couldn't find the place under its purchase price either (as quoted on C4), so I'm not 100% sure that we had the address right...I didn't drive past to check, as when I was in the area I couldn't remember the name of the road it was suggested it was in.

I think we may have lost track of this one, unless someone can go for another drive around and hunt it out so we can then go check nethouseprices!
