Coulson Earns £475,000

Recommended Posts

Camoron's Head of Publicity, Andy Coulson is paid £475,000 a year from public funds, reports the Times.

He is earning twice as much as his Boss, even when you add Camoron's MP's pay to his pay as PM.

This is just when the Government is reducing pay in the Public Sector.

Do as I say, not as I do, is not the way to win friends.

The Coalition will unravel very quickly with this kind of two-handed dealing.

It appears he may have been ripping £475k out of Tory party funds up until last year (Ashcroft money?), but it is yet to be revealed what he will receive as a government funded special advisor, I doubt it will be more than the PM, unless they are utterly stupid and are into own goals?

Mind you, at least he doesn't claim to be a socialist, unlike good old Will Hutton :-

If it's their own money they can do what they like with it, be interesting to see what he earns from Public Funds though.

I don't see your point here. He doesn't claim he's a Socialst, but it doesn't stop him claiming a fee that is about 90% beyond his worth

He claims to care about pay inequality, that's why he's chairing a commission into it

The point is that it is OUR money he is paid with now.

Yup, just like Alastair Campbell and Damian McBride, that's why NuLabour created the role of special advisers, so public money could be used by cronies to insult opponents and spin the tax payer.

However you said he gets "£475,000 a year from public funds", which is untrue, about 10 seconds on Google reveals he was allegedly paid that by Tory HQ and we'll know what he'll be paid as a special advisor when they release the details, and I doubt it will be £500k. nobody would be that stupid.

See the last para of the above.

'Salary met entirely from public funds' say No. 10.'

I acknowlwdge that the amount can be disputed, but do you think Coulson will take a pay cut for delivering No. 10 to Camoron?

I saw Lord Prezza's blog, he was barking up the wrong tree as usual, the alleged £475k is paid for by the Tory party and salaries of special advisors will be released imminently :-

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jameskirkup/100041849/special-advisers-salaries-including-andy-coulsons-to-be-published/

If he's really gonna try and rip £475k out of the tax payer then fair enough with the outrage, however I'd rather wait for the official stats instead of relying on the inane mutterings of some fat secretary shagging lard ar$e.

To quote () Ed Balls, "So weak"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/politics/10285825.stm

Only paid £140K from public funds, number of advisers reduced from 78 in March to 68 now and special advisor pay capped so it is below the PM's

:P
