What Is Debt Forgiveness?

Recommended Posts

A lot of people bound around the phrase debt forgiveness, surely this is not what I think they mean right? i.e. All debts are written off?

If all debts are written off not in the Injin sort of way, then whatexactly is the moral hazard or disincentive not to go and spend a ton of money and pee it up the wall again?

Or does debt forgiveness mean something else?

I.e. I forgive you, then a metaphorical chain saw taken to the debtor?

The debtor is sprinkled with holy water and led into a small room called debt confessional where they are asked to explain each purchase to a debt bishop.

it means that everyone is tarred with the same brush of guilt, and no-one can borrow any money or get simple trust-based services like a bank account or a mortgage. the economy suffers severly but it doesn;t matter as that's socialism baby.
