Stamp Duty For Ftbs - Lib/tory Policy?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what policy the Libs/Tories have on the no stamp duty for FTBs buying a house up to 250K.

No, I am not buying but was just wondering whether this would survive the coming budget or not?

I would be very surprsed if it didn't survive the current budget, but labour brought it in as temporary measure, question is whether it will stay temporary.

According to "their paper" they are reviewing it. Expect an announcement 22/06/10

I think as long as they make a definite decision it will be ok from an HPC point of view (ie that it is made permanent or it is scrapped). Worse case scenario would be that they leave it hanging in the balance encouraging suckers to dive in whilst it still remains.
