The Big Race

And they’re off.

First to show is Dropping Dollars piloted by Benny The Dip, who flew in specially on a helicopter or at

least lots of talk about helicopters and how useful they were when combined with a John Bull printing

kit. Carrying trillions overweight after the revolutionary TARP training programme this Horse was not

fancied although it is somewhat helped by being tied to Roaring Renminbi which is dragging it along at

a fair old lick. After a weak start coming good now, but still miles off the leader.

Next to show is Plunging Pound under the lack of a whip of Mervyn Swerving. A small horse, and

carrying only a few hundred billion he certainly looks to have his work cut out in this one. A recent

change of Owner from Jocky Spendthrift to the Eton/Westminster partnership has resulted in a change

of Trainer. Georgey Porgey has let the jockey keep the ride and Merv seems happier riding than when

the horse was stabled with Alastair Crap whose yard is going through a lean spell.

Yen Yaw which should really have fallen years ago is now carrying so much overweight that it’s a

miracle he is still standing. Amazing stamina for a horse so overloaded.

The early leader, Euro Euro is the unknown quantity. His bloodline includes Uber Mark, the greatest

Horse ever to run a race, but there are several much more dubious ancestors lurking in the background

including Drowning Drachma, PuntDePlunger, Lazy Lira and not least the perennial under achiever

Sinking Scud. Owned by a large syndicate the Jockey ,Johnny Cheater can’t keep all the owners

happy all the time. And how the novel idea of having more than one trainer is supposed to work nobody

knows. The richer owners are contributing more to the fees than the poorer ones and this situation is

destined to end in tears, and quite possibly the glue factory. Fading fast recently, and the wealthiest

owner Countess von Messengershooter is attempting to block betting against this horse.

Glowing Gold, having spent years trailing along at the back has recently shown a remarkable turn of

speed. This unpopular until recently thoroughbred leads by a long way and looks unlikely to be caught.

In fact a further extension of the lead looks possible. This horse does have the advantage of no

weight, no jockey and no owner.
