How Much Does It Cost To Run An Ea?

Recommended Posts

Looking on Up My Street for my postcode in the quarter April - June 2005 there were 31 sales at an average price of £271,472. There are 5 main estate agencies in this area. By my reckoning if they are taking a 1.5% commission they brought in just under £2k per week (maths is not a strong point so please feel free to point out if I've got this wrong).

How much does it cost per week to run an Estate Agency? What figures would we need to see to know when they are in trouble?

Don't forget Agents also manage the lettings side too!

Yeah, wish I could do that. Think 200 properties (in the social housing side its 250-500) 10% of rents. Rents at 900 a month. thats 18K a month or if you want it easy only do 100 properties and take up a hobby! In fact, I think I will!
