Emmerdale - Talking The Market Down

Recommended Posts

:) We have metntioned on here before how we would know Joe Public would

accept that house prices were dropping when it was mentioned in the

mainstream media - especially Soap Operas. Well it was last night.

In EMMERDALE Alan Turner is trying to sell his home conversation went

something like this:

ALAN TURNER : Not sure what is happening cannot sell the place, have not had

anyone round for ages.

DOCTOR: Well it is a BUYERS MARKET at the moment from what i hear.

ALAN TURNER : Yes, i know ESTATE AGENT has already asked me to drop the

price, which I am going to do - hopefully that will have an effect.

I could not believe it, i nearly choked on my dinner. :D:D

So they have started to reprogramme Joe Publics mindset. How much longer before the message sets up home in their craniums?

I'm not sure where the Coronation St storyline is going though, are you? (Dev said "you've got to stretch yourself to get on the ladder")

I think he was referring to the After Eights on the top shelf.

I like this post. Well spotted GAL BEAR! Pobably more people watch/take notice of a soap than read the financial page of a newspaper, CRIKEY! it *must* be true if it is being mentioned in Emmerdale.:blink:

I suspect we'll see Dev's empire crumble over the next 12 months as the nation is gripped by the onslaught of the coming recession. :o

The episode I saw earlier in the week showed Dev being gazumped by another buyer!

Looks like their story is the opposite of Emmerdale at the moment.

OH MAN!!!!,is this basic or what????

I really do despair of human civilisation if they can be swayed by mind-numbing drivel like this!!!!!

this has got to be some really sinster mind-control experiment!!!

...hope they know it failed on a large part of the populus!

maybe they will write into some 'priced out' characters.

I hear Benny from Crossroads is going cheap. No seriously he is dressed up as a Budgie in Lakside selling salty nuts. I know, its terrible but every Budgie needs to earn a hard nut or two.

The Eastenders live in the black economy - all of this is irrelevant as long things keeps falling off the back of lorries.

Surely Walford's housing stock will double between now and 2012 as the ripple makes it's way out from Stratford! I can see it now Dot Cotton decides to MEW to have that long overdue facelift.

Why was he telling his doctor exactly - can't imagine I'd ever mention selling my house to my doctor, not unless it was a symptom of a mental illness..oops.

He wasn't having an actual GP Appointment, he was chatting with the doctor

in the pub with a few other friends.

Scarey if this has more influence on people than TV news or the press...
