The U.K. construction group said pretax profit rose to GBP18.2 million for the six months ended June 30 from GBP13.1 million. Group revenue rose 1.8% to GBP615 million from GBP604 million.
Chairman John Morgan said on a conference call with reporters that the company has made a good start to the second half and is on track for the year. He said he is confident the company will meet analysts' expectations of GBP38.5 million full-year pretax profit.

Directors aren't allowed to deal in their company shares for about two months before they announce results, so it's always most likely that they'll deal immediately after an announcement.
