50% Of Home Owners Can't Afford A £500 Repair Job

Recommended Posts

Guest absolutezero

Sneaky little item on the news on the radio at midnight last night.

No trace of it this morning though.

50% of home owners couldn't afford a £500 repair job and a similar number would struggle with bills and mortgage paymets if they lost their job.

Frightening. Whatever happened to savings?

Whatever happened to savings?

Savings? Who needs savings when your house price is going up 40k a year tax-free? Load up on the biggest mortgage you can afford and you'll be laughing, mate.

Well, unless interest rates go up, house prices drop, you lose your job, you have a kid, something unexpected goes wrong in the house, etc, etc, etc...

Yeah but, no but, well I wouldn't get out of bed for £500,

not like Alison Sherwood who does it in the loo for one pound

50 a time, an' anyway, what can you get for £500, except

for a thousand condoms and who wants them anyway, or

a DVD recorder, but I can get one of those anytime I want

from ASDA, if I wear my big pants, 'cept it hurts if you get

it in sideways, but I don't care anyway, cos I don't have to

get out of bed anyway to earn £500....

not like Alison Sherwood...
