Brits Only Spent £52M On Credit This Christmas

Recommended Posts

From the BBC - Demand for credit back on the rise

So Brits on average borrowed less than £1 each in the spendiest month of the year.

I wonder if they'll manage to pay that £1 back in January.

The same outcome would be reported if half of the population borrowed £500 on credit and the other half paid off £498 of debt!

My guess is that many people are in hardship and did increase debt levels, while others are afraid of what might be coming and chose to spend a bit less on XMAS and pay off debt while they still have jobs.
