Rain'ard
"What a f**ing libertarian", (As Nan might say) That Danial Hannon was on Questions on Radio 4 tonight. They were discussing Jonathon Ross's departure from the BBC . Hannon told the audience that he does not have a television licence now as he downloads his programmes through the internet. Which I don't know whether that is legal, but he went on to imply others to do it. He said he wouldn't pay for a licence. Here's someone rich enough to cough up, a some one who represents his country I don't know if he's collecting his fee, for tonight but he's certainly not paying towards it. Poor people have to.. 1929crash
There's a warning on the BBC News website that you need a license to watch the BBc News 24 feed, so I guess Hannan is breaking the law. I agree with Tinker about BBC News output. ITN has got a lot better, but Channel Four is best of the three.

So we should spend our spare time of 25-30 hours per week watching TV? http://www.barb.co.uk/graph/weeklyViewing?_s=4 Bring on the terrible HBO programming from America, bring on anything but the BBC. Yes I think you are right. Thew BBC walked over the mighty commercials with their Christmas output. The held the top nine positions.
King Stromba
He should still cough up like thev people who voted for him. He want's the Dirty Digger to have it like other traitors in his party Well for a start his name is Daniel Hannan. Second if this is indeed a free country, then he is quite entitled to decide not to own a TV and therefore not reqired to have a licence. If you want to pay for the socialist propaganda crap the BBC churn out to brain wash you, then more fool you.

And now plots centred on products. You are right. The BBC is the worst thing you can imagine, except for the other TV channels. Also, there doesn't seem to be enough advertising revenue to go around, which is why ITV is in trouble in the first place. The Beeb's credibility on the license fee issue has gone up IMO, by getting rid of the overpaid Woss.

Three Pint Princess 2
So is it illegal or unlawful to not possess a TV licence? Downloading programs would be copyright law as it wouldn't be live transmission so you don't need a TV licence.

Krackersdave
Doesn't a free country require its citizenry obey the law? Not if the laws are unjust... Remember the true law is the enactment of the will of the people... NOT the state.
