Prices Drop For Just 2 Days

Read this in yesterdays Mercury, local SE London newspaper. In the property section, but not an advert.

ASKING PRICE OF HOUSES DROPPED FOR JUST TWO DAYS

The latest house price indicators may be offering some light at the end of the tunnel for priced-out buyers but buyers still need more encouragement to buy. One estate agent is giving a helping hand.

Andrews Estate Agents' branch on Orpington High Street is holding a sale. On the 13th and 14th August, the event is aimed at proving that buyers can still find affordable properties across the area of Orpington.

Home sellers who are keen to get moving have agreed to drop their asking price for just two days. Buyers will tour all of the properties in the sale in a pre-set trail, based on the price range they can afford.

At least 20 property sellers in Orpington have already entered the Andrews sale, offering reductions on their asking price of as much as 7 per cent - around £20,000.

How crazy is that!? :unsure:

These sales resemble the nonsense MFI 50% reductions. They are totally meaningless.

So if a buyer makes an offer in two weeks time is the seller going to turn round and say "too late mate".

This type of advertising is almost becoming childish. Anyone who gets suckered in is beyond help.
