Goat
But how do you expect them to recruit people of high enough calibre who are willing to take on the accountability of a multi million pound budget unless they pay high salaries....? These people are accountable?
dog
But how do you expect them to recruit people of high enough calibre who are willing to take on the accountability of a multi million pound budget unless they pay high salaries....? The problem is that they are not recruiting high calibre people. Many of the people collecting £150k salaries in the public sector would struggle to earn £40k in the private sector. Lagarde's Drift
The public sector is full of disastrously incompetent and work-shy chancers. It is not surprising that these people can get paid at all levels to do a lot of nothing. Director of Adult Social Services? Kiss my ass!

Potwalloper
Like the Finance Officers who put money into Icelandic banks and lost it - without being sacked? Apparently that's fine. Public sector, public can pay.
Guest absolutezero
thats right, It doesnt come back to you...its revenue for the government. Otherwise, it would be spent in the economy. and my payslip showed my tax, my NI and anything else I got....and its recorded in the Tax department...they have received the money. Please tell me you don't actually believe any real money changed hands.... Public sector tax and NI is all dodgy accounting.
