delite1
The housing market has slowed down dramatically since last year and prices have been stagnant in 2005, according to the new and improved FT House Price index — the most accurate guide to the real trends in residential property prices. http://news.ft.com/cms/s/9d80643c-0038-11d...000e2511c8.html

Guest consa
The average British home cost £192,400 in June, almost exactly as much as in January. The flat market has pushed the annual inflation rate from a recent peak of 15 per cent last summer to 6.2 per cent last month. Aren't LR figures about 3 months late? Guest wrongmove
Aren't LR figures about 3 months late?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> The LR is usually 3-6 months out of date, but the FT Index is supposed to predict the LR figures in advance. Their track record in this is pretty good if you look back and compare the figures.
IMupNorth
Doesn't it say "In June, the index showed that prices were on average 0.3 per cent higher than in May, marking a stabilisation after three month-on-month falls. This chimes with the opinion of most property experts who predict relatively stable prices this year." So that'll be a soft landing scenario still then - 12 months so far and counting. Coupled with imminent IR cuts and even people on here, seeing people continuing to buy, it doesn't look like a crash does it !!!!!!!!!!!!
