Brown Versus Capitalism

Recommended Posts

Gordon claims capitalism failed, but in reality capitalism did exactly what it should have done. Without the intervention of government, failing banks and businesses would have gone bust and people who were not repayingtheir debt would have lost the asset that backed that debt.

The real problem is that in the La La Land of Labour that we live in, everyone should be able to take on as much debt as they want and have everything now, but never be required to pay the debt back or take any responsibility for what they have done.

Capitalism did not fail, just Labour's interpretation of it.

Capitalists will always try to externalise losses. Many business wouldn't be profitable at all were it not for their costs being born by someone else. Everything from tourism to the arms trade is based upon this idea.

There were profits to be made by loaning out vast quantities of money, and then convincing someone else to pick up the tab. So that's what happened.

Of course, its also Brown's failure, but Brown would never have been in his position without the support of capitalists and so whoever was in power would probably have been used in the same way.

Absolutely, Labour allowed the market to have its head for 10 years and the result was rampant HPI. But they don't like the idea that the only genuine way out of this crisis is to allow the market to correct the problem itself. Without allowing people to pay the price for their stupidity they are creating a dangerous precedent for lenders and borrowers - ie. the government will allow you to speculate, but will then step in to stop you losing. In the long run this can't work as the government will run out of money to bail lenders and borrowers out.......

Capitalists were given free reign and they were force-fed with as much money as they could squander.

The lying **** Brown stuffed the Bankrupt of England with his cronies to ensure the free flow of cheap money which the gamblers could then leverage to create even more commissions and bonuses. The lying **** Brown then basked in the glory, taking credit for the light touch and the "growth" on the back of the debt and unpayable liabilities that were being built up.

Worst of all the lying **** then made sure the taxpayer was landed with the bill.

Did I mention that Brown is a lying ****?

Sorry, what was that about Brown?

The small consensus seems to be that Brown was happy to take the glory while Capitalism worked, but when it failed, he realised his **** was in the firing line and bailed out.

You are SO cruisin for a Bruisin' with this high falluttin' Gordon's "wrong" talk. Gordon could take capitalism and you in his sleep with both hands tied behind his back AND an eye patch on his good eye. Just think about that next time you make the mistake of thinking it's clever to criticise the man who saved the world. He found water on the moon last week as well, but none of the Murdoch press have mentioned THAT little fact anywhere.
